April Wrap Up

I had a pretty decent reading month! Granted, it took me almost a month to finish The Priory Of The Orange Tree… oh well. It’s a massive book. I really enjoyed almost every book I read this month. There was only one that I didn’t like! I’m really hoping to keep up with the great reading months. According to Goodreads, I’m four books ahead of schedule. I’m hoping to keep it this way. What books did you read this month? ★★★★★ Heroine by Mindy McGinnis: I freaking loved this book. It’s so raw and real. When I finished this book, I was just in awe with how much this book relates to reality. ★★★★ The Priory Of The Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon: This is a book that I really wanted to give five stars. I’ve heard so many wonderful things about it. I’m just really upset that the big war/fight scene was so short!! The Hating Game by Sally Thorne: This book made me fall in love with rom coms. This book had a lot of anticipation. I did not want to put it down! It got four stars because I wa

VeryDice is an app I’ve been using for quite some time now. I’m not going to lie, it takes time and patience to be able to get a free book from this app. But here’s the awesome thing: it’s 100% FREE! I haven’t spent a penny on this app and I choose not to. All I do is watch ads throughout my day when I have a minute or two to spare. That’s it. You also get free daily spins which help you gain tickets! You just have to be patient! You will get rewarded 🙂 All the books pictured above are books that I have gotten from using this app (except the copy of Strange The Dreamer, I traded the original copy I got). You can basically get any book that Amazon sells on this app. Once you cash out, it typically takes 2-3 business days to receive your book in the mail! I’m not entirely sure whether or not if this is international. You can always try! Be sure when you sign up to use my referral code 417921 to get 30 rolls to get started! Instructions to download! Top Ten Tuesday // Favorite Quotes

I’m changing up the original topic for this week. The topic was “Inspirational/Though-Provoking Quotes From Books”. I honestly do not have the time to try and find quotes that have inspired me. I honestly don’t keep track of those kind of quotes. Now quotes that catch my eye, that’s a different story. I’ve seen so many quotes that just make me fall in love with a story. These are all basically my favorite quotes from some of my favorite books. “Fine, make me your villain” -Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. This quote made me fall in love with The Darkling. He’s still by far my favorite villain ever. I still want to marry him. As soon as I read this quote, I literally went and bought fan art for the first time. He sitting nicely with my Leigh Bardugo books. “Kiss me until I am sick of it” -The Wicked King by Holly Black. I love Cardan. I also really love that his relationship with Jude is hate-love. There’s just so many quotes I could have chosen that I like more than this one, I just

Annotating Books // Should I Do It?

I have tried annotating one book before. I’m not going to lie, I loved it. I loved being able to underline certain texts and writing my feelings. I feel like it really helped me process the book more. I felt more in tune with the book and how I felt with it. After I partially annotated that one book, I haven’t done it sense. I still have the urges to write in my books. When I read something funny. Something sad. Something that makes me angry. I just don’t pick up my pen to write anything down. Why? I’m so scared that I will want to get rid of these books in the future and no one will want them because I have written in them. I’ve been thinking about just annotating books that I know I will highly enjoy. But, to be honest, I feel like I’ll enjoy all the books on my shelves. That’s why I bought them. I’m always so indecisive with what I want to do with my books. How I want to notate how I feel about them. Writing reviews really helps me remember how I felt about particular books. It’s ju

What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Currently Reading: Six Of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (76%): I’m still reading this damn book. I’m enjoying it now as we are in the middle of the heist. I feel like I’ll finish it either today or tomorrow. Recently Finished: Nothing because I have to be the slowest reader on this planet. Reading Next: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne: I still plan on reading this one next! Unless the ending to Six Of Crows is just so freaking amazing that I have to pick up Crooked Kingdom ASAP. What are you currently reading? Reading Next?

Weekly Recap // 04/15 - 04/21

To those who celebrate it, happy Easter! This week was a stressful one for me due to my work schedule. I didn’t get a lot of reading done as I was not home a lot. I did manage to get through season two of Game Of Thrones though! I’m aware that I could have been reading while watching GOT but I mean, come on. I have a lot to get caught up on. This week was also my seventh anniversary with my one and only. I cannot believe seven years has come and gone so fast. I’m very lucky to have someone like Julian who supports everything I do. He’s the best. He definitely spoiled me with books this year for our anniversary. I got a special edition of a book that I’ve been eyeing lately, just didn’t want to pay that hefty price for it! I also failed miserably at being on a book buying ban. As you will see down below, I got quite a few books this week. Granted, a few of them were sent to me from trades and a giveaway I won. This haul this month is the haul that put me back over the 700 mark. I’m pret

WWW Wednesday is hosted by  Taking On a World of Words . It’s a meme that takes place every Wednesday, where the posters discuss 3 Ws: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Currently Reading: Six Of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (38%): I can honestly say that I’m not enjoying this book as much as I enjoyed the Grisha Trilogy. It’s taking me a little bit to get into this book and even longer to form a relationship with any of the characters. I’m not entirely sure I’ll be picking up Crooked Kingdom right after this one. Recently Finished: The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu: I did not enjoy my time reading this book. I really hope that Jennifer’s story-telling skills have gotten better and that Moxie isn’t as degrading and stupid as this book was. Reading Next: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne: After this fantasy read, I think I’m going to pick up a romance. I need something a little more lighthearted. I’m also finding

Waiting On Wednesday: The Bride Test by Helen Hoang

After reading The Kiss Quotient, there’s no way I’m not excited for this book. I cannot wait to see what happens in Khai’s world. I wish nothing but the best for him!!! I’m also hoping to see a bit of Stella and Michael. Title: The Bride Test Author: Helen Hoang Expected Publication Date: May 7th, 2019 Page Count: 320 Pre-order on Amazon Add to Goodreads Synopsis: Khai Diep has no feelings. Well, he feels irritation when people move his things or contentment when ledgers balance down to the penny, but not big, important emotions—like grief. And love. He thinks he’s defective. His family knows better—that his autism means he just processes emotions differently. When he steadfastly avoids relationships, his mother takes matters into her own hands and returns to Vietnam to find him the perfect bride. As a mixed-race girl living in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, Esme Tran has always felt out of place. When the opportunity arises to come to America and meet a potential husband, she can’t tu

Top Ten Tuesday // Rainy Day Reads

I’m not the type of person to read books based off the weather. I just never see the point. I live in Florida. It’s either really hot or it’s raining. I’m just going to list ten books that I think you should read. These are probably going to be gloomy books because that’s how I’m feeling right now. Six Of Crows by Leigh Bardugo: I’m actually still in the process of reading this book. So far, it seems like the kind of gloomy read one would enjoy on a rainy day. I’m enjoying it for the most part, I just really wish it would pick up the pace. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake: What’s more gloomy than triplets having to kill each other for the crown? I didn’t really enjoy the first book, it was a slow read. I’ve heard the series really picks up though. Heroine by Mindy McGinnis: This is a hard-hitting book. It’s about a girl coming to terms with her opioid addiction. TW: drug abuse, overdosing, death Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson: I read the graphic novel version and I loved it. Thi
