I fear falling into Kallum Locke’s pitch-black soul. But after I’m called to a crime scene to investigate the most gruesome act of violence to descend on the legendary town of Hollow’s Row, I have no choice but to turn to Kallum, to the man I had locked away in an asylum for the criminally insane. The Stand-In by Lily Chu

About The Book Title: The Stand-In Author: Lily Chu Genre: Contemporary Pages: 384 Rating: ★★ Synopsis: Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly "friendly" boss, and yes she still hasn't gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she's healthy, she's (somewhat) happy, and she's (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie's world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in. The catch? Gracie will have to be escorted by Sam, the most attractive—and infuriating—man Gracie's ever met. If it means getting the money she needs for her mother, Gracie's in. Soon Gracie moves into a world of luxury she never knew existed. But resisting Sam, and playing the role of an elegant movie star, proves more difficult tha

Typographic Book Covers!

Image
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl . This week's topic is to talk about books that have typographic book covers! Meaning, book covers that have a design that is mostly words or is just words.  I'm not going to go into much detail about the books because I'm honestly just going to go through a list of all the books I own, both physically and digitally. I have a " virtual bookshelf " where I keep track of all the books I own and read.  Basically, I may or may not have read some of the books on this list. I'm also going to include books that the font is the most attractive part of the cover to me. It's what caught my eyes first. Be Not Far From Me by Mindy McGinnis Fool Me Once by Ashley Winstead The Four Leaf by Lee Jacquot If There's No Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout Love Blind by Christa Desir & Jolene Perry Red Hood by Elana K. Arnold Restore Me by J.L Seegars Such A Fun Age

Farewell My Love - Fairyloot September '22 Unboxing

Image
Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm bringing you the Fairyloot September unboxing. I honestly didn't know anything about this box before it came and I think I'm going to continue to do that from now on. It's more of a surprise when I don't know what's coming. Whether it's the book or the items. I don't want to be spoiled for anything anymore. I don't even want to know the theme for the box. I just really enjoy getting a box randomly in the mail with surprises inside 😂. Botanic Coasters design by @ stellabookishart I literally was just talking with my husband about getting more coasters 😂. These came at the perfect time! I think these are gorgeous and I love them. They are beautiful and I love the artwork on them. These are from the book Belladonna . (also, my floor is a mess. We have a lot of things to donate.) Cardan Trinket Dish design by @ arz28 Another flipping trinket dish. I'm honestly not a huge fan of these trinket dishes. Al

Books On My Fall TBR!

Image
Top Ten Tuesday was created by  The Broke and the Bookish and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl . This week’s prompt is to talk about the books on our Fall TBR!  I'm not going to lie, I don't normally make any TBRs. I typically choose a book at random to read. I do this in order to make sure every single book on my TBR has a chance to be read. Babel by R.F. Kuag: I am actually dying to read this book. I have seen nothing but great reviews for this one. Luckily, if I love it, I already have two beautiful editions 😍 Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner: I actually have an arc of this one from NetGalley. I highly enjoyed Meryl's debut novel and I'm excited to see if I will feel the same about her newer release. Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton: Soooo many people have read and loved this book. I love a good dark romance and I'm definitely making sure I pick this one up soon. A Light In The Flame by Jennifer L. Armentrout: This one doesn't come out for a w

The Four Leaf by Lee Jacquot

Image
About The Book Title: The Four Leaf Series: Holinights #2 Author: Lee Jacquot Genre: Romance Pages: 104 Rating: ★★★★★ Synopsis: Two best friends grow up together, fall in love, get married, and live happily ever after. But what about the one where the girl gets friend-zoned after an awkward attempt at making a move on her best friend? That’s my story. More than a decade has passed, and while our platonic relationship somehow survived, I still cringe when I think about it. Like now. I’m supposed to be getting my hotel ready for all the guests from the St.Patrick's Day parades, but instead, I’m staring at my best friend while he repairs one of my sinks. The memory and sting of his polite rejection years ago usually helps get my head on straight, but it’s not working this time. Not when there’s been an obvious shift in the air. And definitely not when he just grabbed onto my hips, growled in my ear, and told me to run. Links Goodreads ~ Amazon ~ Kindle ~ Audiobook My Review H

But you can’t survive in a house full of lies without learning the art of deception, and once I become a Hale, I’ll show them exactly what I’ve mastered. The Obsession by Nikki Sloane

About The Book Title: The Obsession Series: Filthy Rich Americans #2 Author: Nikki Sloane Genre: Romance Pages: 292 Rating: ★★★★★ Synopsis: The Hale family is obsessed with status, power, and control. No problem is too big their money can't solve. Royce Hale manipulated me into giving him everything. My virginity. My hand in marriage. My heart. And as soon as he got what he wanted, he callously sold me off for a cool ten million. In the boardroom and the twisted game his family plays, he says the only rule is to win at all costs. Yesterday I learned a painful lesson not to trust the prince of Cape Hill. Today I'll destroy his carefully laid plans and show him just how badly he's already lost. All the money in the world won't be able to stop me. Links Goodreads ~ Amazon ~ Kindle ~ Audiobook ~ Book Depository My Review I'm obsessed . Literally. I cannot put this series down.  I'm confused. How To Follow A Blogger Blog On WordPress!

Image
As someone who sees the better benefits of blogging for free with Blogger, I wanted to share how those with WordPress can follow a Blogger blog and have their newest posts show up in your feed. I'm also going to go over some benefits of using Blogger instead of WordPress because I feel like people are missing out on such a wonderful service just because the majority of people use WP.  I will update this post as often as possible as it seems like Blogger has made some recent updates and may possibly keep doing updates! Benefits of Using Blogger Instead of WordPress Free To Use: The best part about Blogger is that it's 100% free to use. You can do just about anything here on Blogger and you don't have to pay. The only thing I have paid for is my beautiful theme. With WordPress, you have many restrictions unless you pay for the service.  More Theme Choices: There are two sites you can find free themes from. BTemplates and Gooyaabitemplates . This benefit kind of piggybacks

Life Updates?

Image
It's been so long since I sat down to write a blog post. I took a much needed break away from blogging and reading to be honest. I got pretty behind on my Goodreads goal but that's okay, I'm catching up. My mental health needed a break and I was tired of pushing myself to read when I didn't want to. So many things have happened since I last posted on here. Back in early late July, early August, we all got Covid at home. My son got it first and then my husband and of course I got it. I was able to work from home while we were all sick, which I am grateful for. Unfortunately, it destroyed my mental health. I was unable to disassociate work from my home life. I absolutely hated every minute of it. When I went back to work, I made the ultimate decision to quit. My job was extremely toxic and was constantly destroying my confidence in myself and ruining my mental health day by day. I have been unemployed since August 11th. I do have a job lined up and I begin on Septembe
