Me & Milo The Great By Michelle Schlicher Published By: Expected publication: September 14th 2017 Genres: Fiction Pages: 224 Purchase: Kindle Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆ My name is Holiday Sanchez. I carry a heavy burden. But I’m not the only one. There are others who know what it feels like to remember. Maybe they are the answer. Maybe we can help each other. Maybe I’ll finally get past it. Maybe it just takes time—and a little bit of magic. I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review. You literally go in to this book without know a lot. I think it’s so good to have that mysterious sense about a book. I went in to this book not knowing whether or not I was going to enjoy it. But I’ve read another book by Michelle and I loved it, so I expected to love this one as well. Holiday Sanchez has been through a lot. She has a social anxiety as a result from a traumatizing event during her childhood.    This is the story of how Holiday heals from that event.  I’m also not go

The Upside Of Unrequited By Becky Albertalli Published By: Blazer + Bray Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary, LGBTQ+ Pages: 336 Purchase: Amazon – Kindle My Rating: ☆☆☆☆ Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love—she’s lived through it twenty-six times. She crushes hard and crushes often, but always in secret. Because no matter how many times her twin sister, Cassie, tells her to woman up, Molly can’t stomach the idea of rejection. So she’s careful. Fat girls always have to be careful. Then a cute new girl enters Cassie’s orbit, and for the first time ever, Molly’s cynical twin is a lovesick mess. Meanwhile, Molly’s totally not dying of loneliness—except for the part where she is. Luckily, Cassie’s new girlfriend comes with a cute hipster-boy sidekick. Will is funny and flirtatious and just might be perfect crush material. Maybe more than crush material. And if Molly can win him over, she’ll get her first kiss and she’ll get her twin back. Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favorite Book Quotes

Image
For this Top Ten Tuesday, I will not be using any pictures. I’m kind of doing this last minute seeing as I’ve been working on changing around my blog and adding new books to my virtual bookshelf.  With that being said, let’s get started with my top ten favorite book quotes! I was also only able to do seven. I kinda suck at this but I didn’t want to take quotes from books that haven’t meant anything to me. 1. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover “Love isn’t always pretty. Sometimes you spend all your time hoping it’ll eventually be something different. Something better. Then, before you know it, you’re back to square one, and you lost your heart somewhere along the way.” 2. Monsters In The Dark by Pepper Winters “You stole my loneliness. I may have given you wings, but you’ve become my gravity. I’ll never be free of your force.” 3. Awaken by Nina Lane “My husband doesn’t just love me. He knows how to love me. He knows what I need and when I need it, sometimes even better than I do.” 4. Until Fri

Top 10 Tuesday: Books I'd Want On A Desert Island

Image
I’m trying to get more active on my blog. I’m actually spending less time on Instagram right now. I just feel like I lost the fun of it and it felt more like a chore than something I enjoyed doing. It’s also a pain in the butt to wake up early every day and make a post. I think I’ll be giving up the daily challenges though and just update it when I have a new blog post here? I don’t know, we shall see. So for this Top 10 Tuesday, I’m doing the top 10 books I’d want on a desert island. This is going to be difficult to do. But I think I can handle it!! These are also in no particular order. What are your top ten books you would take to a deserted island? Monsters In The Dark Pepper Winters This book is technically three books in one. But since they’re not separate, I’m counting it as one. This book is one of my ultimate favorite books ever. It introduced me to a dark world that I fell in love with instantly. Also, this book is like 800 pages long and it would be a great read for being on

Review: It's Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini

Image
Title: It’s Kind Of A Funny Story Author: Ned Vizzini Purchase: Amazon ~ Kindle Rating: ☆☆☆ SYNOPSIS: Ambitious New York City teenager Craig Gilner is determined to succeed at life – which means getting into the right high school to get into the right job. But once Craig aces his way into Manhattan’s Executive Pre-Professional High School, the pressure becomes unbearable. He stops eating and sleeping until, one night, he nearly kills himself. Craig’s suicidal episode gets him checked into a mental hospital, where his new neighbors include a transsexual sex addict, a girl who has scarred her own face with scissors, and the self-elected President Armelio. There, Craig is finally able to confront the sources of his anxiety. Ned Vizzini, who himself spent time in a psychiatric hospital, has created a remarkably moving tale about the sometimes unexpected road to happiness. I feel terrible giving this book a three star rating. I just went in expecting too much. I’ve heard many great things
