Book Review: Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau

Image
Synopsis: Twins Carys and Andreus were never destined to rule Eden. With their older brother next in line to inherit the throne, the future of the kingdom was secure. But appearances—and rivals—can be deceiving. When Eden’s king and crown prince are killed by assassins, Eden desperately needs a monarch, but the line of succession is no longer clear. With a ruling council scheming to gain power, Carys and Andreus are faced with only one option—to take part in a Trial of Succession that will determine which one of them is worthy of ruling the kingdom. As sister and brother, Carys and Andreus have always kept each other safe—from their secrets, from the court, and from the monsters lurking in the mountains beyond the kingdom’s wall. But the Trial of Succession will test the bonds of trust and family. With their country and their hearts divided, Carys and Andreus will discover exactly what each will do to win the crown. How long before suspicion takes hold and the thirst for power leads to

Annotating Books: Yes or No?

Hey guys, how are you today? I’m coming at you with a random post. I started doing something that a lot of readers find quite annoying. Annotating. I’m writing in my books from now on. I’ve recently been obsessed with Books with Chloe over on Youtube. If you watch her videos, you’ll know that she annotates her books. I’ve been watching her reading vlogs and got inspired to annotate the way she does. I’m still reading Dividing Eden and I started annotating in the middle of it. So far, I’m loving it! I feel like I’m absorbing this book so much more by adding my thoughts to the pages. I definitely recommend annotating to everyone! I plan on doing this with every book I read from now on. I feel like it’s really going to help me when it comes to doing my reviews and getting more in depth with my thoughts for the books. What do you think about annotating books?

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books By My Favourite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read

Image
Like I’ve stated before, I’m not going to go above and beyond with these kinds of posts. I won’t post a picture for every book listed but I will link it to Goodreads. With that being said, here are some books by some of my favorite authors that I haven’t read yet. A Court Of Frost And Starlight by Sarah J. Maas : I’m not sure why I didn’t pick this book up as soon as it was delivered. I’m scared to read it, honestly. I’ve read some mixed reviews and it makes me nervous about this book. Slammed by Colleen Hoover : I haven’t read this trilogy yet. I’m always a bit picky when it comes to reading romance novels that have multiple books. I just have to wonder what the heck goes on that it has to be more than one book! Without Merit by Colleen Hoover : This book just intimidates me. I’ve heard that it’s unlike the other books Colleen has written and I’m just worried I’m not going to like it. The Last To Let Go by Amber Smith : Ever since I read The Way I Used To Be , I’ve been dying to read

Weekly Wrap-Up: 09/17 - 09/23

Hey guys, how are you? As you may know, I decided to stop blogging for a bit. That little bit only turned out to be like two weeks. But, I feel like I really needed that. I needed that time to know that I don’t constantly have to blog about books or have a posting schedule. I was really stressing myself out over nothing! With that being said, I will do weekly wrap-ups. That’s not always going to guaranteed. I’m not going to spend time making my posts as awesome as they can be. It honestly takes away from my reading time. The whole reason I even have a book blog! Away From The Blog: I haven’t really been up to much away from the blog. I’ve been trying to catch up on my reading. We’ve been pretty busy in my house. My husband just started a new job and we’re still trying to get used to everything that comes with that.  My son’s birthday was on September 10th and we had a blast. I just can’t believe that he’s four now! Where does the time go?? With our garden, everything has died. Everythi

Book Review: Perfectly Imperfect by Harper Sloan

Synopsis: Mirror, mirror … who’s the fairest of them all? I still cringe when I hear that line. A fairy tale that had girls pretending they were the fairest, the most beautiful, and the most entitled. A fairy tale most couldn’t grow out of turned my haunted childhood memories into a living nightmare. Girls who grew up believing that pile of garbage became the meanest of all ‘mean girls.’ And those mean girls were right – it was a line meant for all the beautiful people in the world – and I knew the answer would never be me . The women with long legs, flat stomachs, and perfect chests. The type of women Kane Masters gravitated toward. Well, that’s definitely not Willow Tate. No. That will never be me. Because I’m completely imperfect. And … I hate myself. I have no idea what Kane could possibly see in someone like me when he could have them . Review: Oh boy, did I really not like this book. It carried so many problems. This book was far from perfect in my eyes. I didn’t care for any o

August Book Haul:

I’m doing so much better at spending money on books. I’m really working on only buying books that I can’t stop thinking about. No more wasting money on books I’ll never read! I also got rid of 100+ books! I had to make some room on my shelves for these new reads! All The Little Lights by Jamie McGuire : I’m really excited for this book. I won it in an Instagram giveaway. Jame McGuire is such a great writer. I really can’t wait to see what this book is going to make me feel. Dare To Seduce by Carly Phillips : I’m not even going to lie, I’ve never heard of Carly Phillips before. I saw this book in a giveaway and I entered and won. The book seemed interesting enough and it’s really small. It’ll be a quick and hopefully fun read. Dark Matter by Blake Crouch:  I saw this book blow up throughout the book community. When I saw it for a dollar, I knew I had to have it. You really cannot beat cheap prices.  As You Wish by Chelsea Sedoti:  This is a book that I know hardly anything about. I was
