Top Ten Tuesday: Books To Pull You Out Of A Reading Slump

Image
For me, short contemporaries will take me out of a reading slump. If I read a really long fantasy, like I’m about to do, I always go to a short contemporary afterward. I always have to sit and think about fantasy books after I finish them and they always make me stop reading. I feel like something short and sweet will get me in the mood to read again. Which is why I normally tend to switch off reading fantasy and contemporary or romance. This list is going to contain all books that I have read and that have taken me out of a reading slump. I hope you guys enjoy and can relate! Bleed Like Me by C. Desir : Anything by Christa can take me out of a slump. I normally read her books in one day. They’re so easy to read and they’re quite enjoyable. I will note that these books are all based on dark topics so do not go into with a light heart. The Forbidden by Jodi Ellen Malpas : I always enjoy Jodi’s books. I really wish there were more of them. Her books are sexy and filled with action. I def

This is something I do weekly. You can keep up with what I’ve done throughout the week and what I’ve read or bought. Always feel free to share what you were up to during the week in the comments below. You can click each image, it’ll take you to their Goodreads page. Happy reading! Hello everyone! I spent so much time away from my computer this week. I didn’t do too much of anything so there’s not much to update. Julian’s birthday was on Sunday and we had a pretty lazy day. I love spending his birthdays at home and just doing things we love together. Happy 33rd birthday baby! Update on our garden: we do have sunflowers growing! Also, broccoli! I’m super excited that were actually growing things. It’s amazing. So far, it doesn’t look like anything else is growing. It’s sad but it’s okay. We can always try again.  I also started reading Harry Potter to my son. He seems like to the idea of me reading to him, but he can’t get into it. I think it’s because there aren’t any pictures. So, I’m

Book Review: They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera

Image
They Both Die At The End By Adam Silvera More Details: BOOK TYPE: Contemporary PAGES: 368 Published September 5th 2017 by HarperTeen Purchase Synopsis: On September 5, a little after midnight, Death-Cast calls Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio to give them some bad news: They’re going to die today. Mateo and Rufus are total strangers, but, for different reasons, they’re both looking to make a new friend on their End Day. The good news: There’s an app for that. It’s called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure—to live a lifetime in a single day. My Review: I went into this book thinking that neither of them will die in the end. Adam Silvera really messed with my head with this one. I was not intrigued with this book when I first starting reading it. It honestly was close to receiving two stars for me. Until the end of the book. That’s where I felt everything. This is the third book this year to make me cry. I loved the idea

50 Bookish Questions

I saw this on Tumblr. It’s one of those things you’re supposed to reblog and some asks you the question. Well, I don’t have any followers that will ask me any of these questions. So, I’m going to ask myself all of these questions over here on my blog! Fun times are ahead. It’s almost like doing a Myspace survey again. Throw back. This took way too long to do. I feel dead. 1. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BOOK AND/OR BOOK SERIES OF ALL TIME? As of right now, my favorite book is A Court Of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. My favorite book series is definitely the ACOFAS series. I’m still waiting for a book or series to top this. 2. WHAT IS THE LONGEST BOOK YOU HAVE EVER READ? HOW MANY PAGES? I’m pretty sure it’s Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. It has 648 pages. The majority of her books are massive. So basically, anything Maas writes. 3. WHAT IS THE OLDEST BOOK YOU HAVE EVER READ? (BASED ON IT’S WRITTEN DATE) Umm, I read Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas a couple of months ago and that book was

Always feel free to share what you were up to during the week in the comments below. You can click each link, it’ll take you to their Goodreads page. Happy reading! I didn’t really have an eventful week away from my blog. I worked most of the week at night, which means I got a lot of reading done. Update on our garden: we have a sun flower growing! I’m pretty sure it’s a sunflower. It could be something else. I don’t even care. I’m just really happy that something is growing.  Maybe next week I’ll actually have done something worth while to talk to you guys about.  Dare To Seduce by Carly Phillips : I won this book in a giveaway. I’m not entirely sure what the book is about but I’m definitely in the mood for some romance. It’s also a super short book so I could probably read in a day. Out Of Focus by L.B. Simmons: I also won this book in a giveaway. This books seems lik
