About The Book Title: House of Salt and Sorrows Author: Erin A. Craig Genre: Young Adult Horror Pages: 403 Rating: ★★★ Synopsis: In a manor by the sea, twelve sisters are cursed. Annaleigh lives a sheltered life at Highmoor, a manor by the sea, with her sisters, their father, and stepmother. Once they were twelve, but loneliness fills the grand halls now that four of the girls' lives have been cut short. Each death was more tragic than the last—the plague, a plummeting fall, a drowning, a slippery plunge—and there are whispers throughout the surrounding villages that the family is cursed by the gods. Disturbed by a series of ghostly visions, Annaleigh becomes increasingly suspicious that the deaths were no accidents. Her sisters have been sneaking out every night to attend glittering balls, dancing until dawn in silk gowns and shimmering slippers, and Annaleigh isn't sure whether to try to stop them or to join their forbidden trysts. Because who—or what—are they really dan

Take That Break!

Hello and welcome back to my blog! As you can probably tell, I haven’t been posting lately. I took an unannounced hiatus from blogging. I haven’t been reading as much. I’ve been reading A Court Of Silver Flames since the day it came out and I don’t think I’ve reached the 200-page mark. Why have I been absent? Well, as of yesterday I am technically “unemployed”. This is the first time in my working life that I haven’t had a job. I’m hoping to start my new job on the first of March. This has been a stressful time for me. I’ve been staring at walls and crying pretty often. It doesn’t help that the job I was at for almost four years just decided to “let me go” and didn’t let me work the rest of my shifts. I could have been blogging. I could have been reading. Honestly? I’m still a bit depressed. I’m feeling better today, which is why I’m making this post. I have a lot to catch up on with my blog. I have an entire week to do that. So, be on the lookout for some book reviews! This is just

Happenings Away From The Blog I am making this post on Saturday instead of Sunday. I do have to work a double on Sunday which will be my LAST double at my current job. Why? Because your girl landed a new job working 9-5 Monday through Friday! This was the exciting thing I was kinda talking about in my last weekly recap. My entire schedule is going to be changing in a couple of weeks. I’m no longer going to have that time before work to blog. I will have to figure it out as I go. I did cancel my giveaway for the time being. I have to wait until my background check comes back and with Covid, that means it can take a bit longer than normal. Which means I may be not “working” for like a week. Which is fine, it just means money is going to be a bit tight for a minute. This job is going to be perfect for me and my family. I cannot wait to start this new journey. I have been looking for this kind of job for the longest time. New Books This Week Lore by Alexandra Bracken. I finally got my Ja

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking The Spine where we highlight some of the upcoming books we can’t wait to read! There was no Top Ten Tuesday post this week! I know you guys probably don’t care because there’s literally only a handful of you following me. I’m not ready to go into detail about why I wasn’t able to post yesterday. But, I’ll let you guys know probably later this week. But, I’m here to talk about books today. Especially Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne. I read The Hating Game like two years ago? I really loved it. It was one of the first rom-com books I decided to pick up and I had such a blast reading it. I haven’t read her other book yet, 99 Percent Mine . All I know is people just didn’t like that one as much as her first novel. I’m really hoping that Second First Impressions is a book I’ll love and enjoy! Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne Distraction (n): an extreme agitation of the mind or emotions. Ruthie Midona has worked th

Happenings Away From The Blog Hello and welcome back to my blog! This week has been different. It’s the first week of the month and it’s supposed to be extremely busy at work and luckily, it was pretty chill. I was pretty shocked. Something also exciting happened on Friday. I’m not going to go into detail unless it actually happens. I’m trying to not get my hopes up. I’ll have to remember to do my TTT on Monday because I will not have time on Tuesday because of that thing that happened on Friday! Just keep your fingers crossed for me because this could really help our family out. Also, my first Fairyloot box should be coming today! I will be doing a spoiler review once I get it, so be on the lookout for that. I’m hoping I’ll be home when it comes because it’s been a rainy day here in Florida. With that said, happy Superbowl day. I’m hoping the Bucs lose so I can get a back massage 😁 I have to hurry up and get off here so I can buy my turnips on Animal Crossing and we’re going shoppin

My First Fairyloot Unboxing! (January)

Image
For the longest time, I have wanted a book subscription box. I just never let myself get one. I signed up for Fairyloot and Illumicrate’s waitlist. I was able to sign up for Fairyloot close to the end of December and I’m still currently waiting on Illumicrate to have an opening for me. There will be spoilers for the January Fairyloot box. Do not read this post unless you don’t mind getting spoiled!!! Let’s get into this unboxing! **I paid for this with my own money, it is not sponsored** Spoiler Card (@ taratjah ) I absolutely adore this spoiler card. It’s so beautiful. I managed to not spoil myself by not watching Instagram stories and Booktube videos. I definitely didn’t let this card spoil me! Trinket Dish (@ taratjah ) At first, I wasn’t too excited about this. I don’t wear much jewelry. BUT, Tara did such an amazing job on the artwork once again. Also, if this exciting thing happens I can start wearing jewelry more and can use this trinket dish! Books Written Before I Was Born

Image
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl , where book bloggers are invited to share their top lists centered on a certain topic. This week’s topic is to discuss books I want to read that were published before I was born. I’m gonna be 100% honest here. I do not want to read anything that was published before 2000. With that said, there obviously aren’t any books I’m interested in reading that were published before 1993. The only three books I can think of that I’d eventually like to read is the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy. I don’t know when I’ll read them. But it will happen within the next ten years 😂 Let me know in the comments below if there are some books on your TBR that were published before you were born! The Fellowship Of The Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien Return Of The King by J.R.R. Tolkien

Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today, I’m bringing you my January book haul. I purchased quite a few books this month. January Wrap Up

Image
Hello and welcome back to my blog! Honestly? January wasn’t a great reading month for me. I didn’t read a lot of books that I loved and I feel like that’s making my reading slow down. And I feel like I may be in a bit of a life-slump. I’m not doing much different so I’m not sure why I’m not reading as much as last year. I am trying to do things to help my reading. According to Goodreads, I’m already one book behind schedule… ouch. I’m thinking about trying to watch some reading sprints on Youtube to help boost my reading mood. I also am thinking about deleting social media off my phone. I get so distracted with it and it’s extremely frustrating. Let me know in the comments what books you read in January! Also, let me know what you do to read more! A Song Of Wraiths And Ruin by Roseanne A.
