The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

About The Book
Title: The Love Hypothesis
Author: Ali Hazelwood
Genre: Romance
Page Count: 384
Rating: ★★★★★

Synopsis:

As a third-year Ph.D. candidate, Olive Smith doesn't believe in lasting romantic relationships--but her best friend does, and that's what got her into this situation. Convincing Anh that Olive is dating and well on her way to a happily ever after was always going to take more than hand-wavy Jedi mind tricks: Scientists require proof. So, like any self-respecting biologist, Olive panics and kisses the first man she sees.

That man is none other than Adam Carlsen, a young hotshot professor--and well-known ass. Which is why Olive is positively floored when Stanford's reigning lab tyrant agrees to keep her charade a secret and be her fake boyfriend. But when a big science conference goes haywire, putting Olive's career on the Bunsen burner, Adam surprises her again with his unyielding support and even more unyielding... six-pack abs.

Suddenly their little experiment feels dangerously close to combustion. And Olive discovers that the only thing more complicated than a hypothesis on love is putting her own heart under the microscope.

My Review

I finally read the book that everyone seems to love. I can now finally see what the fucking hype is about. Ali Hazelwood is top tier. This book was fantastic. I loved every minute of this book. Every single minute. There was not one second of this book I didn't like.

Well, besides that sexual harassment. But that asshole gets what he deserves.

The Love Hypothesis follows Olive, (a grad student?), who is trying to convince her best friend that she's over her ex. How does she do that you ask? Well, she grabs a random guy and asks him if she can kiss him. That random guy is Adam. A professor that everyone seems to hate.

This book obviously has the fake dating trope. One of my favorite tropes, to be honest. It was done so well. And I loved that the tropes were actually brought up by the characters. It was hilarious.

The smut in this book was *chef's kiss* fantastic. I wish there was more, but I'll take what I can get.

The fact that the book is Star Wars fanfiction is great. I'm honestly not a huge Star Wars fan myself, but it was nice to have people to picture while reading this book.

I want more from Olive and Adam though. I'm hoping in all of these novellas she's releasing that she'll include more of them.

I will buy every book that Ali puts out. She is definitely an auto-buy author now and probably will work her way up to being one of my favorites.
