Synopsis:
Victor and Eli started out as college roommates--brilliant, arrogant, lonely boys who recognized the same sharpness and ambition in each other. In their senior year, a shared research interest in adrenaline, near-death experiences, and seemingly supernatural events reveals an intriguing possibility: that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. But when their thesis moves from the academic to the experimental, things go horribly wrong.

Ten years later, Victor breaks out of prison, determined to catch up to his old friend (now foe), aided by a young girl whose reserved nature obscures a stunning ability. Meanwhile, Eli is on a mission to eradicate every other super-powered person that he can find--aside from his sidekick, an enigmatic woman with an unbreakable will. Armed with terrible power on both sides, driven by the memory of betrayal and loss, the archnemeses have set a course for revenge--but who will be left alive at the end?

I was honestly losing hope. I didn't think I was ever going to like a book by Victoria Schwab. I didn't think I was going to like this book at all. With me not enjoying other books by her and this book being about "superheros". I wasn't expecting much from this book.

This book was an interesting read. I was captivated by page one. This whole idea of people who die and come back as ExtraOrdinary. Two college boys testing this theory. Two boys becoming ExtraOrdinary. This story was just amazing!

Although, one of the boys (Eli) is self-righteous. Once he becomes an EO, he realizes they're not right. People should not become EO. He makes it his mission to terminate those who have ExtraOrdinary abilities. He tries killing Vic but doesn't succeed.

Ten years later, Vic makes it his mission to kill Eli.

This story was fast paced. There was always something going on. There wasn't really a dull moment. I can't wait to see what the heck happens in the next book. I am on edge right now!

I just feel like that little fight scene at the end should have been a bit longer :(

4/5 Stars
