Braden Mack thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in love, but he’ll soon discover that real life is better than fiction.
Liv Papandreas has a dream job as a sous chef at Nashville’s hottest restaurant. Too bad the celebrity chef owner is less than charming behind kitchen doors. After she catches him harassing a young hostess, she confronts him and gets fired. Liv vows revenge, but she’ll need assistance to take on the powerful chef.
Unfortunately, that means turning to Braden Mack. When Liv’s blackballed from the restaurant scene, the charismatic nightclub entrepreneur offers to help expose her ex-boss, but she is suspicious of his motives. He’ll need to call in reinforcements: the Bromance Book Club.
Inspired by the romantic suspense novel they’re reading, the book club assist Liv in setting up a sting operation to take down the chef. But they’re just as eager to help Mack figure out the way to Liv’s heart… even while she’s determined to squelch the sparks between them before she gets burned.
This is a book series where I will definitely pick up every book! Even if Lyssa Kay Adams decides that this series needs to have like fifty books. No lie. Men reading romance novels has become one of my favorite "tropes". Can we consider this a trope? I don't care, I am.
To be honest, I wasn't a big fan of Liv in Bromance Book Club. I felt like she was stuck up and just plain mean. She gets her redemption in this book, as it is all about her.
And Braden fucking Mack.
I expected to love this installment in the BBC series. I really enjoyed my time reading it and it went by really quick. I just didn't love it as much as BBC. This book was exciting in many ways. I honestly can't begin to tell you why I didn't love it as much as the first book.
I feel like these could be read as standalones. I really hope that every member of the book club gets their own book!
