Synopsis:
Bryce Quinlan had the perfect life—working hard all day and partying all night—until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She’ll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths.
Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose—to assassinate his boss’s enemies, no questions asked. But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he’s offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.
As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City’s underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find, in each other, a blazing passion—one that could set them both free, if they’d only let it.
It's honestly so hard to talk about my new all-time favorite book. I absolutely freaking love this book. House of Earth and Blood made me laugh, cry, and blush. It made me feel all the emotions.
I'm not going to go into detail about this book. I feel like you shouldn't even read the synopsis because it gives away such an emotional part of this book. Just know that this is an urban fantasy and it's typical Sarah J. Maas writing, but with more "adult" wording.
Bryce and Hunt have made their way up to my favorite Sarah J. Maas characters. Sorry, Rhys and Feyre. Their banter. Bryce's view on almost every single male character in Sarah J. Maas's books. I just really fell in love with all of the characters in this book.
House of Earth and Blood broke my heart. Many times. I'm still feeling so emotional about the things that happen in this book. I have never cried so much over a book!
Also, just know that the first like 200ish pages are kind of info dumpy. I didn't have a problem with it because I loved learning about this new world. I feel like it really built up this world into something beautiful.
Yes, this is a Sarah J. Maas book. Yes, she does use the terms "male" and "female". She even calls herself out on it, it's funny.
When are we getting book two???
