I feel like my rating might have been higher but Scribd really messed with my experience with this book. I listened to so many parts over and over. I feel like some parts were skipped over. Either way, I still enjoyed this book!
I honestly don't know what I thought this book was going to be about. I don't read the synopsis thoroughly because I like to be surprised. I thought this was going to be a story completely about Midas. I'm glad we got the story of his daughter and how she comes to finally accept herself.
A Touch Of Gold follows Kora, King Midas's daughter, who is a lonely princess who isn't good at being a princess because no one will go near her. Her skin is gold thanks to her father's curse. Her uncle is constantly trying to find someone to wed her so when her father does pass away, there will be a king.
Enter in Duke Wystlinos (I can't for the life of me remember his first name and I don't feel like looking for it because he sucks). Her uncle found him to try and woo Kora. When he arrives, King Midas's gold is stolen. When King Midas is away from his cursed gold for too long, he could possibly perrish.
Kora and Duke Wystlinos go on an adventure to acquire the gold back.
I really liked this story! It was quick-paced and something was always going on. There wasn't a dull moment. Except, I think I might have missed the part of Duke Wystilnos unfurls his plans. Oh well. Either way, I enjoyed this story!
I do plan on picking up the next book. I can't wait to see what happens with Kora!
