I'm not going to lie, when I went into The City of Brass, I didn't think I was going to like it. I know this is not a review for that book but I didn't write a real review because I wasn't blogging at the point of reading it. I didn't think I was going to understand this story. Mostly because it's adult fantasy and I'm still somewhat new to reading adult fantasy books.
I'm a bit disappointed in some of the things that happened in this book. Not to a point where I'm going to give it a low rating. I'm just disappointed in one character in general and I wish he works really hard to get back on Nahri's good graces. (Dara, you need to get your crap together!)
The Kingdom of Copper takes place five years after The City Of Brass. Nahri was basically forced to marry Muntadhir and she doesn't take any crap from him. She doesn't take crap from anyone in this book. She makes sure she gets a good sum of money for marrying the butt hole's son.
Nahri's growth in this book is absolutely beautiful. She learns what she wants in life and she sets out to get it. She's so badass. I love Nahri and I cannot wait to see what awaits her journey in The Empire of Gold. I feel like that book might break me.
This book was an unexpected story that I love. I'm kind of upset that I have to wait for the next book. I need to know what happens next!
