I feel like I'm the only one that feels underwhelmed with this book. It did not live up to the hype. I'm not happy with this book. I'm giving this book three stars because I enjoyed the audiobook. If you do want to read this book, go the audio route. It has a full cast and the podcast parts are actually done as a podcast. A lot of work went into the audiobook. That's where the three stars is going.
I was scrolling through Goodreads and felt bad that I didn't see any negative reviews. Well, I may be one of the few that didn't like this book. That's fine. Not everyone has to like everything that's out in the book community. I can at least say I gave this book a chance.

This story follows Sadie, a girl who is looking for the man who killed her sister. Again, a Scooby-Doo trope. One that I dislike. Sadie is now a missing person. I mean, that wasn't a shocker. That tends to happen when kids get involved in things they should not.
We get to follow Sadie while she's doing her own investigation. We meet a great many of people who she meets that help lead her to her "father". I honestly didn't like Sadie. She was hardly ever nice to people and the way she thought was just mean sometimes. I can see that she's trying to get answers but I feel like she goes about it the wrong way. Constantly thinking she's "dangerous."
I feel like she really made herself seem as if she were dangerous. I feel like she brainwashed herself. All I saw while listening to this book was a scared girl who didn't know what she was doing.

If I didn't listen to this book on audio, it would have gotten a lower rating. The audiobook is simply amazing. I just wish the story line was better. I also really hated the ending. It's garbage.
