10:00 a.m. The principal of Opportunity High School finishes her speech, welcoming the entire student body to a new semester and encouraging them to excel and achieve.
10:02 a.m. The students get up to leave the auditorium for their next class.
10:03 a.m. The auditorium doors won’t open.
10:05 a.m. Someone starts shooting.
Told from four different perspectives over the span of fifty-four harrowing minutes, terror reigns as one student’s calculated revenge turns into the ultimate game of survival.
I picked it up because it’s a kind of book I’ve never read before. It was a real quick read and it was very intriguing to get to experience this terrible time with these characters.
Although the story was sad, I didn’t love it. It didn’t feel the heart wrenching pain that the characters did. I didn’t cry once. I did cheer at the end though.
I just didn’t feel emotionally attached like I should have been. And honestly, I think there should have been a point of view of Ty. I would have liked to be able to see what was going on in his mind.
I did enjoy the different point of views. It was nice being able to see how the different students felt throughout this tragedy.
