I went into this book thinking it was going to be all about romance. I was quite surprised when there was a lot more to this book than a complicated love story.

Evie and Carter meet at a mutual friend’s Halloween party and hit it off almost instantly. I mean, they were both dressed like characters from Harry Potter. It’s quite obvious they were meant for each other. They decide to keep in touch with each other even though they’re both married to their careers.

They both work as agents. At first, they work for two different companies. That is until they merge. Their relationship escalates from there. And not in the direction it should.

They become nemeses. They fight like cats and dogs over a job.

This book is more than just a bad/good romance though. This book is also about sexism in a workplace. Evie deals with so much crap from her male boss and Carter soon begins to realize how easy it is for him just because he is a male.

This book isn’t what I quite expected but I think that’s a good thing. This is my first Christina Lauren book and I’m 100% going to be picking up some more from her!!
