Synopsis:

Hope warms the coldest night.

Feyre, Rhys, and their close-knit circle of friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve.

Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated--scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.

My Review:

I wanted so much from this book. No, I needed so much from this book. It partially delivered. I'm very glad I got more Feyre and Rhysand. I just didn't get enough. I read reviews stating this this book was nothing but sex. Well, they're wrong seeing as there is actually only one sexy scene in this book. I was actually disappointed, I wanted more people to hook up. AKA, I want Elain to start being nice to Lucien and get over that human boy.

I love that this book is strictly focused on friendship. It's happening during Solstice and it's tradition that you spend it with your family and close friends. Presents are exchanged. This reminded me so much of Christmas. I loved it. It was beautiful. I love how grateful everyone was.

There were a few funny scenes. The scene in the sauna had me dead. I died. It was hilarious. It was honestly my favorite part in the book.

To be honest, this book would have received a higher rating from me if it wasn't a novella. I want more than just 230 pages. So many things could have been resolved. Nest could stop being mean to everyone. Elain could start giving Lucien a chance. Mor can come out to all of her friends. I wanted so much more!

I'm also angry because I'm starting to feel kind of bad for Tamlin. I still hate him, I just wish he would move on with his life and stop acting all depressed. You did this to yourself, stop playing victim.

3/5 Stars
