Top Five Tuesday: Top Five Books That Didn't Live Up To The Hype

I’m foregoing the Top Ten Tuesday topic for this week. I don’t really know of any libraries or bookish places I’d like to visit. And, I don’t feel like coming up with my own. I forgot about the Top Five Tuesday hosted by BionicBookWorm.

Let’s just hop right into the top five books that didn’t live up to their hype. I’m trying to get a lot of reading done today and I’m already procrastinating. Yay me!

1. THREE DARK CROWNS BY KENDARE BLAKE
I know this is probably going to be problematic for some. I just found this book so underwhelming. I didn’t hate it, I still gave it a three star rating. I just feel like it could have had more. I found it lacking action and I found some parts really boring. I do still plan on finishing this series because I’ve heard they get better!

2. TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED BEFORE BY JENNY HAN
Let’s just say that I am not a big fan of this book. I felt like it was really childish even though the character is like sixteen-years-old. I do have this entire trilogy and I’m not sure when I’ll finish it. I’m definitely not in a hurry.

3. WE WERE LIARS BE E. LOCKHART
I did not like this book. At all. I think I rated it like 1.5 stars or something. I guessed the plot twist at the beginning of the book. This book didn’t do anything for me. I’m planning on picking up another book by Lockhart, I do believe in second chances.

4. WHAT I LOST BY ALEXANDRA BALLARD
I didn’t not like this book. It’s just a book that didn’t sit with me like it would with other people. This book is not for me. From what I’ve heard and read, it does represent eating disorders. I honestly don’t even remember what all happened in this book. Oops.

5. THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US BY KASIE WEST
I think I’ve come to the conclusion that Kasie West’s books aren’t for me. The last two books I’ve read of hers have not lived up to the hype I see all over the internet. They’re just really plain and boring.
