Former Army intelligence officer Seth Hightower may work with the Hollywood elite as a makeup artist, but he’s learned not to trust the rich and famous with anything more than a good time. Only one woman ever tempted him to break his rules about dating actresses—and she left him with the memory of a single night and a lifetime of what-ifs.
Hollywood “It” girl Gia Harris is used to being in the spotlight. But after she witnesses something that puts her life in danger, she needs to avoid prying eyes. Seth’s special skills make him the perfect person to keep her famous face out of the news, but their history makes him the last person she wants to be alone with. He’s far too tempting—and now, far too close….
As Seth conceals Gia from those who would do her harm, they can’t ignore the blistering attraction between them. And when they give in to their cravings, they reveal more about themselves than either of them has ever laid bare before.…
So I picked up this book because it was a dollar at my local dollar store. I noticed Beth’s name from a long list of books by her that I have on my neverending Amazon wishlist. I don’t exactly know how I feel about the book though!
It was a good read, don’t get me wrong there. I loved reading this book to the point where I was almost late for work because I didn’t want to put it down. But there were some things that kinda bothered me about it.
I liked when Seth and Gia met for the first time. I was totally shipping them from the moment they met. But of course, they didn’t continue their relationship from that night. Lies were told and whatnot.
Jump to two years later. They just happen to be thrown into a situation together which pushes them back into their sexual escapades. It didn’t take long for it to happen either. I think that’s what bothers me about this book. They both gave into their needs so quickly. But they learn more about each other in their time in seclusion. They even fall for each other.
Seth, being the stubborn man he is, still wants nothing more than a sexual relationship with Gia whilst hiding out from the public eye. But luckily, his stubbornness eases and he wants to make a relationship work with Gia.
I felt like there should have been more to this book? I wanted more danger and less sexiness. There was a tad bit more sexual encounters than I think any real person could ever handle lol.
All in all, it was a good and quick read. Four out of five stars!
